From Excellence to Failure: 7 High-Performing Districts Lose $10 Million
Several of Ohio’s highest performing public school districts have lost more than $1 million to failing charter schools.
One of the key takeaways from the data on KnowYourCharter.com is that most of the children leaving Ohio’s traditional public school districts to attend charter schools go to a lower performing charter school.
More remarkable is that several of the state’s highest performing school districts have lost more than $1 million to Ohio’s charter schools. The Ohio Charter School Accountability Project considers any school district that received no report card grades below a B to be high performing.
Here is the list of the high performing school districts that lose more than $1 million to charter schools – a total of more than $10.3 million.
