The Autism Academy of Learning was a health hazard for the staff and students. I witnessed students with behavioral problems being locked in closets. One student would urinate on the carpeted floor and the school administration would refuse to buy a carpet cleaner to clean it up. They considered it the teacher’s job to clean it up, however possible. It was academically substandard and a disgusting place to work. I am an experienced autism educator and I lasted 6 months.
