I’d like to thank Innovation Ohio and OEA for their work in developing the KnowYourCharter.com website. Bringing clarity to a decision as important as where to send your child to school is essential as parents are faced with several educational alternatives. The website offers a quick and easy way for parents to make comparisons that can inform (will support) their decisions.

As educators, we owe it to our taxpayers to be honest, transparent, and accountable for our academic and fiscal performance.  KnowYourCharter.com is a welcome step in assuring this happens.

It is time for Ohioans to have meaningful conversations about school reform, and the direction of the future of public education in our state. We have started that conversation in Lorain County and will continue to engage our public around topics like school choice, vouchers, testing, accountability and school funding. I encourage every community in Ohio to have a similar conversation as we seek to do the very best for Ohio’s children.
